It's easy to get caught up in the hype around the industrial internet of things (IIoT) and digitalization, or "digital transformation." The fact is, Digital Transformation isn't the goal — it's the vehicle to convert data to better, faster decisions, so the enterprise can boost operational efficiency, improve cost structure, establish new business models, or achieve some other corporate strategic objective. It's a big leap from raw data to good decisions, and one bridge to get there is analytics.
In this research spotlight, we explore why manufacturing companies need an industrial analytics strategy and how they successfully build that strategy. In particular, we examine the framework and considerations to ensure analytics flexibility and expansibility.
